Uninstalling Nutshell from macOS

Follow these steps to completely remove Nutshell from your Mac system.

Step 1: Remove the Application

Move to Trash

Drag the Nutshell application from your Applications folder to the Trash, or right-click and select “Move to Trash”

Empty Trash

Right-click on the Trash icon in your dock and select “Empty Trash” to permanently delete the application

Step 2: Remove the Virtual Audio Driver

The virtual audio driver is a critical component that needs to be removed separately. This requires terminal access and administrator privileges.

Open Terminal

Press ⌘ + Space to open Spotlight Search, type “Terminal” and press Enter

Remove Audio Driver

Enter the following command:

sudo rm -R /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/NoSound64ch.driver

You’ll be prompted to enter your administrator password. Type it in and press Enter.

Restart Audio Service

Enter the following command:

sudo killall coreaudiod

You’ll need to enter your administrator password again. Type it in and press Enter.

After completing these steps, Nutshell will be completely removed from your system. If you plan to reinstall Nutshell in the future, you can download it again from our official website.
